The T20 World Cup is underway, and the 11th match turned out to be a real shocker! Underdogs USA faced off against Pakistan in Dallas, Texas. This was Pakistan’s first match of the tournament, and let’s just say it didn’t go as planned.
Remember how the USA tied their last match and then even beat Pakistan in the Super Over? Well, they did it again! This time, they completely dominated Pakistan, winning by a comfortable margin.

What Went Wrong For Pakistan?
Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, is pointing fingers at their own team’s mindset. He says, “We prepare well, but maybe it’s a mental thing. When you play a team that might seem weaker, you relax a bit. You take things for granted.”
Babar explained, “If you don’t execute your plans perfectly against ANY team, they will punish you. We weren’t sharp, and as a team, we couldn’t make our plans work.”
Pakistan’s All-Round Struggle
Babar admitted their team underperformed in all three areas: batting, bowling, and fielding. He highlighted the need for their batters to score more in the middle and death overs.
“We didn’t capitalize in the first 6 overs with the bat. Losing two early wickets puts you on the back foot. We need partnerships, guys!” he said.
Their bowling wasn’t on point either, especially the spinners who couldn’t pick up wickets in the middle overs. “These things cost us the match,” confessed Babar.
USA’s Domination
The USA won the toss and chose to bowl first. Pakistan’s batting order crumbled, losing 3 wickets quickly. Babar Azam and Shadab Khan tried to steady the ship, but in the end, Pakistan could only manage a score of 159 runs.
Chasing a modest target of 160, the USA cruised to victory, losing just 4 wickets. Remember, this is the same team that beat them in the Super Over just a few days ago!
