So why sideline him then?

There Could Be A Few Reasons:–

• Fitness: Rahul had a recent injury scare, maybe the selectors aren’t convinced he’s 100%.
• Team Balance: India has other openers in top form – Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, and Deepak Hooda. Maybe it’s a team balance call.
• Giving Others a Chance: Rahul’s had his opportunities. Perhaps the selectors want to see what younger players can do.
