Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan can get hosting, special plan made for India’s matches

The ongoing controversy over the hosting of the Asia Cup 2023 seems to be coming to an end. According to the report, the hosting of the Asia Cup can remain with Pakistan. Due to India’s decision to play in Pakistan, matches against the Indian team can be played at any other ground. There is a possibility that this ground could be of Dubai.

Asia Cup 2023: Both the teams can play their tournament matches outside Pakistan :-

According to ESPN Cricinfo, after the initial impasse, both the BCCI and the PCB could quickly agree on a proposal in which both the teams can play their tournament matches against each other outside Pakistan. While the overseas venue is yet to be confirmed, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka and even England are possible contenders to host the five matches including at least two India-Pakistan fixtures.

Pakistan and India in the same group :-

It is worth mentioning that India and Pakistan have been clubbed together with 6 nations in the Asia Cup in the 50-over format to be held in September this year. Apart from these two, there will be a qualifier team in this group. At the same time, the teams of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are included in the second group.

A total of 13 matches will be played in 13 days including the final of Asia Cup 2023. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4 and the top two teams will then compete in the finals. There is a possibility of three matches between India and Pakistan.

There was a dispute between BCCI and PCB :-

Due to poor relations between India and Pakistan, the BCCI had agreed to send the Indian team to Pakistan. After this, Pakistan increased the controversy further by saying that it should boycott the ODI World Cup to be held in India. ACC members held several meetings to discuss holding the Asia Cup outside Pakistan.
