Deepti Sharma Mankading: Ravichandran Ashwin came out in support of Indian women’s cricketer Deepti Sharma. The last ODI match of the three-match series was played yesterday between the Indian women’s cricket team and the England cricket team (INDW vs ENGW) and India won it by 16 runs.

Deepti was in the news for running out at the non-striker’s end:-

But more than India’s victory, Deepti Sharma’s run out of Charlie Dean at the non-striker’s end in the 44th over was in the news.

However, everyone has always had different views regarding the manner in which Deepti got out. Many cricketers criticized him and many defended him.

But soon after this, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin started trending on Twitter.

Rajasthan Royals Jos Buttler was sent to the Pavilion:-

Ashwin had sent Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler to the pavilion in a similar fashion while playing for Punjab Kings during the 2019 IPL.

Many cricketers then criticized Ashwin for not maintaining the “spirit of the game”. When Ashwin saw that he was trending on Twitter.

So he tweeted and wrote, “Why are you trending Ashwin? Tonight belongs to a bowling hero Deepti Sharma.”

Significantly, earlier this month, the ICC had announced some changes in the playing conditions. At the same time, it has also been announced to give run-out status to this wicket, called Mankad.
