Shardul (7/61) bowled out a sensational bowling performance as India bowled out Shardul Thakur South Africa for 229 in their first innings on the second day of the second Test at The Wanderers Stadium here on Tuesday.

The South Africa Lead by 27 Runs :-

With this, South Africa, who bundled out India for 202 runs in their first innings on the first day. Took a 27-run lead.

Shardul’s bowling figures of 7/61 are the best ever by an Indian bowler in South Africa and on his way back to the pavilion, he received a standing ovation from the helpful staff and the Indian coaches.

Apart from Thakur, Mohammed Shami took two and Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket. Keegan Pietersen (62) and Temba Bavuma (51) scored the highest runs for South Africa.

India was 85/2 at stumps, with South Africa taking a 58-run lead at the end of the second day’s play.

The Struggle To Keep :-

For India, Cheteshwar Pujara (35 not out) and Ajinkya Rahane (11 not out) are still at the crease and fighting to retain their places in the team.

While Pujara was on the offensive in partnership with Ajinkya Rahane, India will be looking to score 250-plus on this wicket.

With India skipper, KL Rahul, dismissed cheaply in the second innings and Mayank Agarwal failing to convert another start, the visitors will have too much faith in the Pujara-Rahane partnership to be safe with the wicket.
