WI T20 WC 2022: Shimron Hetmyer has been Dropped From The T20 World Cup Squad
WI T20 WC 2022: Shimron Hetmyer has been dropped from the T20 World Cup squad. Hetmyer has been included in West Indies’ ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad after missing his flight to Australia.
Cricket West Indies informed the ICC on Monday:-
Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Monday informed the ICC about the inclusion of Sharmarh Brooks in place of Hetmyer.

Hetmyer missed his rescheduled flight to Australia, which was changing at his request from Saturday 1 October due to family reasons.
Two days later a flight was received from Guyana and via New York, although on the morning of the flight Hetmyer informed West Indies Director of Cricket Jimmy Adams that he would not be able to reach the airport on time.
There are any further delays and problems traveling to Australia:-
WI T20 WC 2022: Adams says Hetmyer was aware of the consequences of the flight’s disappearance.
“It was making clear to them that if there were any further delays and problems with the tour of Australia, we would have no choice but to replace him in the team, as we would be compromising on the ability of the team to prepare for it. Not ready for a significant global event,” Adams said.
Brooks West Indies team in Replace of Hetmyer:-
Brooks, replacing Hetmyer, is no stranger to the West Indies team, having played for the team in all three international formats including 11 T20Is in the last 12 months.
West Indies are placing in Group B of the first round in the T20 World Cup and face matches against Scotland, Zimbabwe, and Ireland before a possible place in the Super 12 stage of the tournament.
