Top-5 bowlers taking most wickets in ICC World Cup 2023, Bumrah on second

ICC World Cup 2023 Top wicket-takers: ICC World Cup 2023 is to be held in India from 5 October to 19 November. A total of 10 teams are participating in the 13th edition of the ODI World Cup and in this mega event lasting 45 days, 48 matches will be played on 10 grounds in India.

The first semi-final of the World Cup 2023 will be played on 15 November in Mumbai and the second semi-final on 16 November in Kolkata, while the final is to be held on 19 November in Ahmedabad.

Leading wicket-takers in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

At number one is Mitchell Santner of New Zealand. Santner registered his name in the top list by taking 5 wickets against Netherlands becoming the first spinner to take 5 wickets in an innings in World Cup history.

In second place is India’s Jasprit Bumrah, who after taking 2 wickets against Australia, took 4 wickets against Afghanistan.

Another Kiwi bowler Matt Henry, took 3wickets in the match against the Netherlands. He is in third place on the list.

Pakistan’s Hasan Ali is at number four.

Kagiso Rabada of South Africa is in fifth place.

Highest wicket-takers in ICC World Cup History

  • Mitchell Starc (Australia) has played 19 matches so far, in which he has taken 50 wickets
  • Wasim Akram (Pakistan) who took 55 wickets in 38 matches.
  • Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka) took 56 wickets in 29 matches.
  • Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka) has taken 68 wickets in 40 matches with an average rate of 19.63.
  • And on top is Australia’s Glenn McGrath, who played 39 matches with an average rate of 18.19.
    Took 71 wickets, and 42 maidens are recorded in his name.
