PCB is unhappy with Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi, there will be changes in rules

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not happy with former captain Babar Azam and current T20I team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi connecting with fans on social media platforms.

Despite losing the captaincy, Babar Azam ‘s popularity did not decrease: –

Despite losing the captaincy, Babar’s popularity also evident in the question and answer round on X (formerly Twitter) as more than 20,000 fans joined him during this period. Around 4000 fans participated in the question and answer session with Shaheen.

But according to PCB sources, the board is not happy with the participation of these two senior players in the social media session and is considering making rules regarding this.

According to sources this is the whole matter :-

Sources said, “PCB will consider imposing some conditions in this regard which the centrally contracted players will have to follow.”

He further said, “The provisions related to social media activities of centrally contracted players are being reviewed again as the Board feels that public question answering in this manner would create unnecessary interference.” Disputes may arise.

Even before this there were disputes between PCB and players :-

Earlier, differences had arisen between the PCB and the players over the issue of NOC (No Objection certificate) for playing in foreign leagues. The players were angry over the NOC not being increased to play in the league.

Pakistani players are currently playing in ILT20 and Bangladesh Premier League. These players requested the PCB to extend the NOC so that they can return home to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting on February 17.
