New Delhi, Online Desk. In the first phase of the new season of Ranji Trophy, the 22-year-old youth of Bihar has played a stellar innings. Bihar’s Sakibul Ghani created history by scoring a triple century against Mizoram. Playing the biggest innings for Bihar Ranji side, Sakibul became the first batsman to score a triple century. On the second day of Ranji, he played an innings of 341 runs.

The match played between Bihar and Mizoram on the second day of the first leg of Ranji Trophy recorded in the pages of history. Sakibul, just 22 years old, scored a triple century for the first time for Bihar. The team, who came to bat first against Mizoram, took the score beyond 650 runs on the basis of this triple century and Babul Kumar’s double century.
Batting first against Mizoram, Sakibul played an unmatched innings of 341 runs for the Bihar team. He hit 56 fours and 2 sixes during this innings. During this he faced only 405 balls. Earlier, no batsman in the world had scored a triple century on his first-class debut.

First triple century from Bihar
This is the first triple century score by Bihar in Ranji Trophy. Earlier in 1967, Anand Shukla had scored an unbeaten 241 runs. This was the batsman’s maiden first-class match and became the first Indian to score a triple century in the very first match.
