England thrashed India by ten wickets and entered the final of the T20 World Cup on the back of unbeaten half-centuries and a record unbroken partnership of 170 runs for the first wicket by Alex Hales and captain Jos Buttler. Now England will face Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. For the Indian team sent to bat first, neither Virat Kohli’s bat was visible to him nor Suryakumar Yadav could shine. Hardik Pandya, however, played the role of a finisher, scoring 63 runs in 33 balls to take the team to 168 runs for six wickets. The Indian team has been yearning for the ICC title for 9 years.

India won the T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After this, the Indian team entered the final or semi-finals of the ICC World Cup five times. But Team India got failure every time.

Batting first, the Indian team scored 192 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. The Caribbean team easily won this match by 7 wickets.

New Zealand beat the team by 18 runs in the semi-final

Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the Indian team traveled to the semi-finals in the ICC ODI World Cup 2019. The team was defeated by New Zealand by 18 runs in the semi-finals. Batting first, New Zealand scored only 239 and the Indian team was all out for 221 runs.

Apart from this, Team India had to face defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and New Zealand in the final of ICC Test Championship. Both the times the captain of the team was Virat Kohli.

Now India got out of the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. However, Rohit has another chance to win the ICC title for India. Next year, the ODI World Cup will be played on India’s soil only.
