Afghanistan Announces 18-Man Squad For Three-Match ODI Series Against Sri Lanka

Afghanistan has announced an 18-man squad for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Afghanistan have included uncapped wrist spinner Noor Ahmed in their ODI squad for the three-match series against Sri Lanka later this month.

The 18-Year-Old Noor Ahmed is Yet to make his ODI Debut:-

Senior all-rounder Gulbadin Naib has also returned to the T20 World Cup squad after being injured. The 18-year-old Noor Ahmed is yet to make his ODI debut but has already gained worldwide popularity for his performances in the T20 franchise league.

On his T20I debut against Zimbabwe earlier this year, Noor took 4/10. Recently, he was part of the T20I squad for the Asia Cup in UAE.

The selectors have included some young faces for the series:-

ACB CEO Naseeb Khan said, “The selectors have included some young faces for the series which augurs well for us in next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup.”

“The series is important for us in terms of our qualification for the mega event next year and I am sure the team will have enough strength to perform well when they take the field.”

Afghanistan is currently ranked seventh in the Cricket World Cup Super League. The ODI series, which will have all three matches in Kandy, is part of the Super League and will begin on November 25.
