IND vs NZ: Kane Williamson and Saudi will not come on tour of India, New Zealand announced the team for ODI series

New Zealand has announced the team for the ODI series against India and Pakistan. Regular captain Kane Williamson and experienced fast bowler Tim Southee will not come on the tour of India. New Zealand will play a three-match ODI series against Pakistan from January 10. After this, the Kiwi team will come to India to play three ODIs from January 18 and three T20 matches from January 27.

Apart from Kane Williamson, coach Gary Stead will also stay away from the series. In his place, assistant coach Luke Ronchi will take charge of the team. New Zealand selector Gavin Larsen confirmed on Monday that all three would return home after touring Pakistan next month to begin preparations for the home Test series against England, starting in mid-February.

Kane Williamson relinquished the Test captaincy last week

Gavin Larsen further said, “We still have two important Test matches against England. That’s why we are calling Williamson and Southee back so that they can be completely fresh before the series against England. Kane Williamson had relinquished the Test captaincy last week. Tim Southee has been made captain in his place. New Zealand has announced a 17-member squad for the two series against India and Pakistan.

When Kane Williamson and Tim Southee return home after the tour of Pakistan, Mark Chapman and Jacob Duffy will replace them. Tom Latham will captain in the series against India. Pacer Trent Boult and all-rounder James Neesham have not signed central contracts. Both have not got place. At the same time, Kyle Jameson has not been selected due to injury.
