CA Announced – Women’s National Cricket League will start from February 22
Cricket Australia has announced that the rest of the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) is to resume from February 22. The entire 29-match season will now be completed under the revised schedule. In which each team will play eight matches before the final on 25 March. The competition is, to begin with, a day-night fixture between the New South Wales Breakers and the ACT Meteors. CA made the announcement on Friday (February 6).

Several times due to the COVID-19 threats and boundary constraints–
CA has already postponed the 50-over competition several times due to the COVID-19 threats and boundary constraints. Earlier, the WNCL schedule was also changed due to the change in the schedule of the multi-format Ashes series. Earlier, Queensland Fire and South Australian Scorpions were scheduled to face each other at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane on 7 and 9 January. And at Manuka Oval, ACT Meteors were to play against Victoria on January 9 and 11.

The remaining 24 matches of the 26th season of WNCL are scheduled at venues in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. The CA statement said the revised schedule changes were necessary to reduce biosafety risks.
Cricket NSW and Cricket ACT will host a substantial number of neutral matches.
