ODI World Cup 2023: New Zealand Cricket Board’s Big Decision Before The WC. the runner-up team of the 2019 World Cup, engaged in preparations for the World Cup to be played in India, has taken a big decision.

The team has extended the tenure of head coach Gary Stead. Now Gary will remain the head coach till 2025.

Stead’s tenure was due to end after the ODI World Cup in India this year. 51-year-old coach Stead will also be the coach of the team in the upcoming 2nd T20 World Cup.

Will play the role of coach in these tournaments

The new contract will see Stead in charge of the team during the ODI World Cup 2023, the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024, the entire World Test Championship cycle 2023-25, and the Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan.

New Zealand Cricket’s High-Performance General Manager, Brian Stronach, was absolutely thrilled after Stead extended his contract and praised him for his performances with the team so far.

New Zealand High-Performance Manager Brian Stroneck said: “Gary’s results have been very impressive and we believe he still has much to offer the team.

Certainly, a big part of this decision was whether Gary wanted to continue and he has made it clear that he will always try to take this team forward.

He helped a lot in taking the team forward – Team Saudi

New Zealand Test captain Tim Southee has also expressed happiness over the extension of Gary Stead’s tenure. Southee has said that “Gary has been a huge success in getting us to finals in all three formats and of course, winning the World Test Championship.

It’s great that he came the way he did and carried forward what he had achieved earlier.

The amount of time players and support staff spend away from family and loved ones creates a challenging environment.
