U-19 Men’s WC 2024: Namibia Name Squad for U19 World Cup Qualifier 2023

Namibia Squad U19 World Cup Qualifier: Cricket Namibia is proud to announce the Namibia U19 Men’s team set to represent The Land of the Brave at the Regional World Cup Qualifiers in Tanzania from July 21–31, 2023.

The U19 Eagles will be competing against Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Uganda, and the host, Tanzania. 16 teams will be competing at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Sri Lanka in 2024. The six participating teams at the Africa Regional Qualifiers are vying for a spot in the World Cup, joining the 11 Full Member cricket nations that have automatically qualified for the event.

A squad of 14 Namibian players have been selected after a period of intense training, monitoring, and tracking by the selectors.

U19 Coach, Oscar Nauhaus said :-

Cricket Namibia’s newly appointed High-Performance Manager and U19 Coach, Oscar Nauhaus said: “The squad boasts good experience, with some members having participated in the previous U19 World Cup qualifiers. The team has a variety of skill sets available to call on, which should provide us the opportunity to be adaptable and flexible.”

Cricket Namibia CEO Johan Muller :-

“We are very proud of the fourteen selected players. The selection process started in August 2022 and included various tournaments, tours, trial weekends, and camps. Part of Cricket Namibia’s vision is to be globally competitive, which has been achieved by our national men’s and women’s teams in recent months.

Our focus has now also moved down to our U19 men’s and women’s teams. They will have our full support behind them in the qualifier. We believe we have the right talent to deliver during the event and then measure ourselves against the best of the world at a World Cup.”
