Now the reason for this has come to light. On the third day of the Boxing Day Test, third umpire Richard Illingworth was seen missing from his place. The game also had to be stopped as he was missing from his sheet.

Now the question that might be arising in your mind is where Illingworth disappeared in the middle of the match, due to which the game had to be stopped.

So after this accident, the commentator revealed that when he was coming to his room after lunch, he got stuck in the lift. This is the reason why the play on the third day had to be stopped for some time after lunch.

Australia’s Position Strong in Melbourne:

Talking about the match, after bowling out the visiting team for 264 runs in the first innings of the Melbourne Test, the Australian team scored 108 runs at the loss of four wickets in its second innings.
