Announcement of 18-man Sri Lankan team against Bangladesh, Dimuth Karunaratne gets leadership responsibility

New Delhi, Online Desk. Sri Lanka Cricket has announced 18-man players for the two-Test series against Bangladesh. Opener Dimuth Karunaratne once again given the responsibility of leadership of the team. Some important players have not found a place in this squad. Sri Lankan batsman Roshen Silva ruled out of Bangladesh tour.

The first match of the two-Test series will be from May 15 in Chittagong while the second match will be in Dhaka, Bangladesh from May 23

This tour is very important for Sri Lanka in terms of the World Test Championship. Currently the team is at number 5 position. During 2021-23, the team has won two matches. And has to be satisfied with that draw in two matches. During this time Bangladesh has won only one Test match and currently they are at number 8 in this list and ahead of England.

Dimuth Karunaratne (Captain), Kamil Mishhara, Oshada Fernando, Angelo Mathews, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjay de Silva, Kamindu Mendis, Niroshan Dickwella, Dinesh Chandimal, Ramesh Mendis, Chamika Karunaratne, Suminda Lakshan, Kasun Rajitha, Vishwas Fernando, Asitha Fernando, Madushanka, Praveen Jayavikrama and Lasith Embuldeniya.
