Rashid Khan returns to Afghanistan team after a long time, will captain in T20 series
Rashid Khan returns: Afghanistan has announced the squad for the T20 series against Ireland. Star player Rashid Khan, who was out of the team due to a back injury, has returned. He will lead Afghanistan against Ireland. Rashid has been away from cricket since the ODI World Cup.
Rashid Khan will be seen playing for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 :-
However, Rashid Khan will be seen playing for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 after the series. The Afghan star missed Big Bash League 13 and PSL 9 due to injury and was not a part of his national team. He traveled with the team for the T20 series against India in January, but due to fitness, he was not able to make a place in the team.
Ibrahim Zadran took over the captaincy in the absence of Rashid Khan :-
In Rashid’s absence, opening batsman Ibrahim Zadran led the team in the three-match T20I series following the ODI World Cup. Afghanistan faced UAE, India and Sri Lanka in those three series and only managed to defeat UAE (2–1), while losing to India (3–0) and Sri Lanka (2–1).
Mujeeb ur Rahman also returns to the international team :-
Meanwhile, Mujeeb Ur Rahman has also returned to the international team after being left out of the T20 series against Sri Lanka and the ODI series against Ireland. He had sprained his right hand and is now making a comeback. The three-match T20 series begins at home to Afghanistan from March 15.
