Captain Will be Able to Announce Playing XI After Toss in IPL

It has been learned that during IPL 2023, when the captains come to the ground for the toss, they can announce their playing XI even after the toss. That is, when the captain comes for the toss, he can have two sheets in his hand, if batting comes first, one sheet will work and if batting comes later, the other sheet will work. The captains who win and lose the toss can tell after the toss which of their 11 players they want to field in today’s match. It has been said in the note that till now the captains have to give the list of their players before the toss. Now after the toss, the list of playing XI will have to be handed over to each other captains. This has been done so that the captain can field his best team according to the playing condition. Not only this, this rule will also help the captains in selecting the impact player.

Rule has Been Implemented in SA20, Now Dew Will Not Affect

This rule was implemented in South Africa’s SA20 league which was held recently before IPL. In which the teams were allowed to announce their playing XI after the toss. The teams put 13 names on the team sheet before announcing their playing XI after the toss. That is, 11 players are playing and two players were kept as impact players. Due to this, the captain who wins the toss and decides to bat or bowl according to the condition and the captain who loses the toss does not have an option, this will not happen.
