In the club’s statement, Nikitaras seemed excited to join the Thunder’s camp

“I rate this with being selected to play for NSW last year. Sydney Thunder is an exclusive team, and I am proud to be here. It means the world to me to be a part of a great club, and I am Glad to have had the opportunity to learn from great players on the team.”

Coach Trevor Bayliss also termed the young star as a promising talent

“From a batting point of view, Blake looks like a big, strong kid who hits the ball hard. He is a natural stroke player, but he will only get stronger, and he will only get better.”

The Thunder, captained by Jason Sangha, begin their BBL 12 campaign against the Melbourne Stars on Tuesday.
