Ishan Kishan may not have played for India since the end of the T20 series against Australia in November 2023, but he has been in the news for the wrong reasons in recent times. There have been reports of wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan being dropped from the Indian team for the ongoing series against Afghanistan due to disciplinary issues.

Ishan Kishan expressed his views by sharing a video on social media platform :-

However, head coach Rahul Dravid categorically denied any issues with discipline for Kishan, saying that Ishan Kishan had requested for a break in South Africa and he is not available for selection yet. Amidst all this, on January 12, Kishan himself expressed his views by sharing a video on his social media platform.

Dravid told to reporters :-

Dravid told reporters that there were no discipline issues with Kishan, adding that the wicketkeeper-batsman would have to play domestic cricket to make himself available for selection. “There is absolutely no disciplinary issue. Ishan Kishan was not available for selection. Ishan had requested for a break, which we agreed to in South Africa. We supported that. He has not made himself available yet. When he is available, he will play domestic cricket and make himself available for selection.”

Ishan Kishan has not made himself available yet :-

However, Kishan is yet to make himself available for selection for his state team Jharkhand. Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) secretary Debashish Chakraborty told PTI, “No, Ishan has not contacted us or told us anything about his availability. Whenever he tells us, he will be included in the final XI.” Will be done.”

Ishan Kishan’s problems are bigger than Virat Kohli’s return to the team :-

Also, let us also tell you that Ishaan’s worries have increased further due to Virat Kohli’s return to the T20 team last week. Kohli was not available for the first T20I against Afghanistan due to personal reasons, Kohli is expected to return for the second game in Indore and will likely play the No. 3 role in the batting order.

Ishan batted at No. 3 in his last T20I series against Australia in November 2023; At present, apart from Kohli, Shubman Gill is also competing for a spot in the top order.
