ICC ODI WC 2023: Australia’s Ashton and South Africa’s Temba have been ruled out of the upcoming World Cup 2023. Agar has reportedly been ruled out of the upcoming World Cup in India due to a calf injury.

Ashton Has Not Recovered From That Injury:-

A report in The Daily Telegraph revealed that Agar has not recovered from the injury which ruled him out of the recent T20 series against South Africa.

However, the left-arm pacer is not expected to feature in the Australian white-ball team in India, with Tanvir Sangha, Marnus Labuschagne, and Matthew Short emerging as his possible replacements.

Australia is expected to name its final 15-player World Cup squad on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the national selectors are facing a dilemma over whether to keep injured Travis Head for the first leg of the World Cup.

Australian Player is Not Expecting To Recover Till The End Of October:-

The South Australian player, who suffered a fractured hand during the fourth ODI against South Africa, is not expecting to recover until the end of October.

If the selectors decided to omit Head from the final 15-player squad, he could not be included back unless there was an injury.

However, if the decision is made to keep Head in the team until he recovers, he cannot be replacing with any other player.

The Bad News For South Africa Before The World Cup:-

South African cricket team captain Temba Bavuma had reached India with the team for the World Cup but due to personal reasons, he had to return home.

Before starting the World Cup campaign, the South African team will play 2 warm-up matches in which Bavuma will not be able to play. Aiden Markram will be the captain in his place.

The South African cricket team has to play 2 warm-up matches. The first game will be with Afghanistan in Trivandrum on September 29 and the second game with New Zealand on October 2 at the same ground.

The team’s first match in the World Cup is to be played against Sri Lanka on October 7 at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi.

Temba Bavuma is not injured, but due to some problem in his family, he has had to return. According to the current news, Bavuma will return before the main match of the World Cup. Aiden Markram will captain in place of Bavuma in the warm-up matches.
