Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has become the only Indian cricketer to make it to the TIME 100 Next 2023. Harmanpreet has made it to the Time 100 Leaders list. Kaur leaving behind star cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and KL Rahul.
TIME has released the TIME100 Next 2023 list of 100 emerging leaders from around the world. The TIME has included in its 100 list those people. The people, who are shaping the future and defining the next generation of leadership.

Harmanpreet Kaur has got a place in the Innovators category of the Time 100 list. Apart from Harmanpreet Kaur, this list of Time 100 includes athletes like Jalen Hurts, Angel Reese, Ronald Acuna Jr., Rose Zhang, Salma Parluelo, and Sophia Smith.
Kaur has taken Indian women’s cricket to new heights under her captaincy. Harmanpreet Kaur proved her greatness six years ago by playing a strong innings of 171 runs in 115 balls against Australia in the Women’s World Cup in 2017.
Under the inspirational leadership of Kaur, the Indian team made it to the finals of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Kaur also captained Mumbai Indians for the entire season in the inaugural Women’s Premier League this year. Harmanpreet will also lead the Indian team in the Asian Games starting at the end of this month.
Recently, during the ODI series in Bangladesh, Harmanpreet Kaur was in the news for being suspended for two matches and fined 75% for criticizing the umpires.

The Indian women’s team will be seen in the Asian Games from September 21. Harmanpreet Kaur will command Team India in this event. This team led by Kaur includes players like Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodriguez, Deepti Sharma, Yastika Bhatia, and Risha Ghosh. This Indian team has a great mix of youth and experience.
For the last two years, under the leadership of Kaur, the Indian team has performed well in ICC events. But the Indian team has not been able to win the title. The Indian team will play directly from the quarter-finals of the Asian Games on the basis of the ICC Women’s T20 Ranking.
Harmanpreet Kaur has so far scored 3393 runs in 127 ODI matches at an average of 37.70 with the help of 5 centuries and 18 half-centuries. Apart from this, Harmanpreet has scored 3152 runs in 154 T20 International matches at an average of 28.39 with the help of 1 century and 11 half-centuries.
