ICC ODI WC 2023: Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga out of World Cup with injury. Before the World Cup (ODI World Cup 2023) to be played in India, the Sri Lankan cricket team suffered a big setback.
Hasaranga is Out Against India Due To A Hamstring:-
The team’s veteran spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is out of the entire tournament. According to reports, Hasaranga will not be able to participate in the prestigious event in India due to a hamstring issue.

Sri Lanka Cricket has four more days to announce Hasaranga’s replacement, as the final World Cup squad must be presented by September 28.
Earlier, Hasaranga could not participate in the recently concluded Asia Cup due to the same injury. He was last seen in action during the Lanka Premier League, where he led the B Kandy team.
Hasranga was in Excellent Form:-
During the recently concluding Lanka Premier League, Wanindu Hasaranga displaying exceptional all-round skills and was in top form.
He emerged as the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 279 runs and also took the most wickets with 19 runs.
He won several awards, including most sixes, most wickets, and most runs, and was also naming player of the tournament.
This highlights his importance in the Sri Lankan team. If Hasaranga is unable to participate in the World Cup, it will be a big loss for the team.
Sri Lanka Was Troubled By Injuries To Other Players Too:-
Recently, Sri Lanka suffered another blow due to the injury of spinner Mahesh Thekshana during the Asia Cup. However, it seems that he will recover in time for the World Cup and will be able to participate in the event.
On the other hand, the participation of their leading fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera in the World Cup is also highly doubtful as he is also suffering from injury and was last seen in action during the Lanka Premier League.
