Today is a memorable day in cricket history. Today the dream of 3 captains of India to play for the big country was fulfilled. Currently, Team India’s head coach and former captain Rahul Dravid made his Test debut on this day. Former captain Sourav Ganguly and currently the big face of Team India, Virat Kohli also made his Test debut on this day.

It is the dream of any cricketer to play for the country. Test cricket is the most complete format among all formats of cricket. Test cricket is still considered paramount. It is a cricketer’s dream to play in this format. Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly are big names in the cricket world. These three veterans made many records in cricket and made their own special identities. The dream of these three veterans to play in Test cricket was fulfilled on this day itself.

Rahul Dravid Test

Rahul Dravid played his Test debut against England at Lord’s. Dravid scored 95 runs in the first innings of this debut test played on 20 June 1996. The Indian team did not bat in the second innings, this test was a draw. Rahul Dravid played 164 test matches in his 16-year test career. Dravid scored 13288 runs in 286 innings. He scored 36 centuries and 63 half-centuries in Tests.

Sourav Ganguly Test

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly also made his Test debut along with Rahul Dravid. He made his Test debut on this day in 1996 against England at Lord’s. Sourav Ganguly scored 131 runs in the first innings of his debut test. Ganguly played his last Test in 2008. In a Test career of 12 years, Ganguly played 113 Test matches. Ganguly scored 7212 runs in 188 innings, including 16 centuries and 35 half-centuries.

Virat Kohli Test

Virat Kohli made his Test debut on this day in 2011. In the first innings of this test played against the West Indies, Kohli was dismissed after scoring only 4 runs. Even in the second innings, Kohli could not do anything amazing, he was dismissed for 15 runs. Of course, Kohli could not do wonders in his debut test, but in the coming time, Kohli continuously improved his performance and today he is considered the king of the cricket world. Kohli captained in all three formats including this format. Kohli scored 8479 runs in 185 innings of 109 matches. He has scored 28 centuries and as many half-centuries in this format.
