ICC ODI World Cup 2023: The Sri Lankan Team’s Strong Batsman Dasun Shanaka is Out Of The WC Due To Injury. Sri Lanka has suffered a big setback in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Actually, Sri Lankan cricket team captain and ace batsman Dasun Shanaka has been ruled out of the World Cup due to a thigh injury.

All-rounder Chamika Karunaratne has been included in his place. Shanaka was injured during the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Tuesday. After scanning the injury it was revealed that he will be kept out of the game for at least three weeks.

Chose The Option To Include Karunaratne in The Team:-

Sri Lanka has opted to include all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne in the team in place of Shanaka, who is already in India.

The ICC said in a statement that the Event Technology Committee of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has included Chamika Karunaratne in the Sri Lankan squad as a replacement for Dasun Shanaka

It Will Take Three Weeks For The Injury To Heal:-

Karunaratne, who has played 23 ODI matches, will now be seen on the pitch in place of Shanaka. However, the replacement of a player requires approval from the Event Technology Committee before the other player can be officially added to the team.

The Next Match For Sri Lanka Can Be Played Against Australia:-

Karunaratne, 27, is traveling with the team as a reserve player and could play Sri Lanka’s next match against Australia in Lucknow on Monday.
