WTC Final 2023: Even before the start of the final of the World Test Championship, there has been talk that Team India should keep Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the team together, but former chief selector MSK Prasad has a different opinion. Prasad says that Team India should not repeat the mistake of 2021 final.

The Indian team management should not field a pre-determined team in mind for the final against Australia to be held at The Oval from June 7. He has to select the team keeping the conditions in mind.

WTC Final 2023: Everything depends on the pitch and conditions :-

Prasad said that we went into 2021 with two spinners and three fast bowlers. We should have changed our strategy after the rains, but we didn’t and the team didn’t change, but now it’s a thing of the past. Prasad stresses that everything will depend on the pitch and conditions at the Oval. This is the real story of the picture. We don’t know how the five days of the final will go, so we shouldn’t make up our minds beforehand.

Team India will miss Rishabh Pant:-

Former India wicket-keeper Prasad says that Team India will miss Rishabh Pant in the final. Prasad says that the work that Pant has done on foreign soil with wicket-keeping and bat, no other Indian wicket-keeper has done. Pant has scored centuries in England, South Africa, Australia.

Prasad believes that KS Bharath will be the first choice of the team management in the final, but Pant has no break with the bat. It is a very difficult task to fill Pant’s place in the Test series on foreign soil. Prasad believes that Bharat will get preference over Ishan Kishan. He has been tried before and has played for India A in England.

The contribution of the upper order will be important: –

Prasad, who was India’s chief selector from 2016 to 2020, says how India’s top order Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane face the Australian attack comprising Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood But only the direction of the final will be decided. How our upper order copes with their fast bowling. Everything will depend on this.

Shubman Gill is in the form of his life and has scored hundreds in all three formats of the game in the last six months. In IPL, he made some technical changes, which benefited him in increasing the strike rate. If a cricketer changes his mind according to the format, he can do well in any format.
