Happy B’Day Indian former cricketer Kapil Dev, Kapil’s full name is Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj, he was born on 6 January 1959 in Chandigarh, East Punjab, India, Kapil Dev is an Indian former cricketer. He was a fast-medium bowler and a tough middle-order batsman. This is his 63rd birthday.

He guided India to win its first Cricket World Cup title in 1983. He was naming the Indian Cricketer of the Century in 2002 by Wisden. Dev’s all-round performance has been praised by cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar who consider him as one of the greatest all-rounders to was playing the game.

He was the coach of the Indian national team between September 1999 and September 2000. On 11 March 2010, Kapil Dev was inducting into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.

Kapil’s Personal Life :-

Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj was born on 6 January 1959, his son Ram Lal Nikhanj, a teak trader, and his mother’s name is Rajkumari Dev was born in Chandigarh. His family moved to Fazilka after Partition and eventually to Chandigarh.

His ancestral family is from Montgomery (now knowning as Sahiwal). And his mother was borning in Pakpattan, Okara. Dev was a student of DAV School.

Kapil Dev is marrying. She married Romi Bhatia in 1980 and had a daughter Amiya Dev on 16 January 1996.

In 1993, Dev took up golf. Dev was the only Asian founding member of the Laureus Foundation in 2000. Ian Botham and Viv Richards were the other two cricketers on the founding member council of 40.

Steve Waugh was added to the Academy’s members in 2006 when it was increased from 40 to 42.

He had pledged his organs on 31 January 2014 during an event organized by the Delhi Urological Society at the Airport Authority of India, Officers Club, New Delhi.

On 23 October 2020, Kapil suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. He had an emergency coronary angioplasty at a Delhi hospital.

His Domestic Career :-

Dev made an impressive debut for Haryana in November 1975 with 6 wickets against Punjab, restricting Punjab to just 63 runs and helping Haryana win. He ended the convention with 121 wickets in 30 matches.

In the 1979–80 season, Dev showed his batting prowess with his maiden century against Delhi, when he scored a career-best 193 runs.

In the pre-quarterfinal match, where he captained Haryana for the first time against Uttar Pradesh, he took five wickets. -Wickets in the second innings to reach the quarter-finals, where they lost to Karnataka. As Dev cemented his place in the Indian national team, his presence in domestic matches dwindled.

Dev’s International Career :-

He made his Test debut on 16 October 1978 in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Although their match statistics were not conclusive, the numbers did not give any measure of their cooperation.

He stunned the Pakistani batsmen with his pace and bouncers who hit his helmet on more than one occasion.

Kapil took 5/102 in the 2nd Test at the National Stadium, Karachi, 7/220 in the 3rd Test at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, and 8/85 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, while he received little confirmation from other team members.

After this disastrous tour, Dev was made the captain of the Indian cricket team, replacing Sunil Gavaskar.
