Asia Cup 2022: Sourav Ganguly’s message to Team India before Asia Cup

Asia Cup 2022: After their short assignment for the ODI series in Zimbabwe, the Indian team will travel to the UAE for the Asia Cup 2022. The battle for Asian supremacy is about to take place after a gap of four years.

The Asia Cup will begin on August 27, but the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will take on their arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match of the tournament at the Dubai International Stadium on August 28.

Sourav Ganguly kept his point before India vs Pakistan match :-

BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly spoke before the India vs Pakistan blockbuster match in the Asia Cup 2022. Ganguly has said that for him the Asia Cup is not a fight between India and Pakistan, but winning the trophy. India and Pakistan had faced each other in the T20 World Cup last year, where India suffered a crushing defeat by 10 wickets.

Ganguly, “I don’t see any tournament as India vs Pakistan” :-

Talking to India Today on Asia Cup, Sourav Ganguly said, “I am looking at it as Asia Cup. I don’t see any tournament as India vs Pakistan. When I used to be in my playing days, So India vs Pakistan used to be just one match for me.

I always wanted to win tournaments. India are a good team and they have done very well in recent times and hopefully they will do well in the Asia Cup as well.”

India has won the Asia Cup 7 times in 14 editions :-

India has won the Asia Cup seven times. Out of the 14 editions played so far, India have featured in 13 seasons and have achieved the distinction of being champions seven times. At the same time, 14 times the Indian team has faced Pakistan in the history of Asia Cup, in which eight matches have been won and five have been lost.

One match was inconclusive. At the same time, since 2010, there have been six matches between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup, in which India has won five matches.
