Asian games 2023, PM Modi: Indian women’s cricket team created history in Hangzhou on Monday. Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team won the gold medal by defeating Sri Lanka by 19 runs in the women’s cricket final of Asian Games 2023. PM Modi congratulated the women’s team on this victory.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 19 runs in the final :-

It is noteworthy that the Indian team participated in the Asian Games for the first time and won the gold medal. India won the gold medal for the first time in cricket competition. In the match played in Hangzhou, India won the toss and batted first and scored 116 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Sri Lankan team could score 97 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

PM Modi congratulated the team on this victory of India. He wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) handle that the Indian women’s team has made the country proud. PM Modi wished the team all the best for the future.

Titas Sadhu took the most wickets :-

The Indian bowlers took wickets at regular intervals and kept Sri Lanka well out of reach of the target. Rajeshwari Gaikwad bowled the last over to seal India’s victory. For India, Titas Sadhu took maximum three wickets. Gaikwad got two successes. Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar and Devika Vaidya took one wicket each.
