Australia’s Chris Lynn Signs 11-Game Adelaide Strikers BBL Deal With ILT20 which will see him play 11 of 14 group matches before moving to the UAE to take up his ILT20 stint with the Gulf Giants.
Effectively a Pact Between The Two T20 Competitions:-
This is a significant deal, effectively a pact for Lynn to split himself between the two T20 competitions.

He will be giving a no-objection certificate from January 20, with Lynn’s last Strikers match against his former club Brisbane Heat in Adelaide on January 14.
This means that he will not be able to play in the opening matches of ILT20 starting in January. 6.
After being released by the Heat earlier this year and signing up with the ILT20, Lynn and CA were at risk of a standoff with the batsman not holding a contract anywhere in Australia but still requiring a NOC.
The legal advice was that CA could have been taken for restraint of business if they had tried to enforce that position.
Australia Adelaide Strikers sign Chris Lynn:-
A CA spokesperson said, “Cricket Australia welcomes the Adelaide Strikers’ signing of Chris Lynn. “He will be releasing from that date to take part in the UAE’s ILT20 competition on January 20.
“Lynn does not have a CA or State contract and has not since her last Queensland cricket contract expired in June 2019.
Each matter relating to release for overseas competitions is subject to individual circumstances.
Lynn would face his former club twice during the BBL season, with the Gabba visiting on 23 December. He acknowledged how his position required both the BBL and ILT20 to work together.
Lynn is the only player in the BBL to score more than 3000 runs and also leads as the leading six-hitter with 180.
Strikers head coach Jason Gillespie said, “We all know what qualities Chris Lynn brings to the table. He is a proven match winner, a seasoned leader, and a great character all around the group.”
Can Play An Important Role:-
“His record speaks for itself. We are thrilling to have him and know he can play an important role for us this summer.”
He had been a single-club player in the BBL until he was cut by the Heat in May as the club opting to look elsewhere to try its luck and revive.
Their 2021-22 tournament finish with 215 runs in 12 innings but has enjoyed a stellar T20 Blast campaign with Northamptonshire in recent months.

Lynn’s deal follows a big-money offer for David Warner to return to the Sydney Thunder in his two-year deal.
With increasing competition from new T20 leagues, CA has had to take practical decisions to ensure the presence of key players in the BBL.
On Sunday, 24 overseas players will be signing in the inaugural draft.
