Christchurch, Jan 19 (PTI) New Zealand tour of Australia for a limited-overs series. Starting January 30, postponed indefinitely as the New Zealand government banned players from returning home due to restrictions related to COVID-19. Refused to exempt from compulsory strict segregation.

New Zealand was to play three ODIs and one T20I in this tour from January 30 to February 8 but it has now been postponed until further notice as there is no guarantee that the players can return to NZ.

“The Black Caps’ (NZ team) tour of Australia scheduled for January 24 to February 9 has been postponed. Until further notice, as it is not certain when the team will be able to return to New Zealand. New Zealand Cricket said in a statement.

The players were earlier to leave for Australia on Monday. The squad for the tour not announced.

The tour of NZ, however, will take place as per the pre-determined schedule

According to reports, South Africa’s tour of NZ next month will however go as per the pre-scheduled schedule. South Africa will play two Test matches in this tour. The first of these matches will start in Christchurch from February 17. While the second match will start in Wellington from February 25.
