BCCI-Adidas: Adidas Will be the New Kit Sponsor of the Indian Cricket Team! Company Logo Will be Seen in Place of Killer

There have been reports of an agreement between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the company ‘Adidas’, which manufactures sports goods. According to media reports, Adidas will be the kit sponsor of the Indian team. He will replace the existing kit sponsor Killer. The three stripes of adidas can be seen on Team India’s jersey.

The BCCI’s agreement with Adidas will be for five years from June 2023. The Nike Company was associated with the Indian team till 2020. After that there was entry of MPL. There was an agreement between MPL and BCCI till December 2023, but it did not turn out well for the board. Late last year, MPL communicated to the BCCI that it wanted to transfer its rights to ‘Keval Kiran Clothing Limited’ (KKCL).

MPL Itself had Decided to Withdraw

MPL Sports had sent an email to BCCI on December 2, 2022, in which it had demanded to completely hand over its contract (team and merchandise) to ‘Keval Kiran Clothing Limited’ (a fashion brand) by December 31, 2023. The BCCI had asked MPL Sports to continue the contract till March 31, 2023, or to enter into a partial contract, which would only include the ‘logo’ on the right chest, but would not include the contract for making kits. MPL accepted the second option of BCCI.

The ‘Killer’ company joined the Indian team, but it didn’t seem like an ideal form. The board was eager to fix this. He wanted to associate himself with a big brand like Nike. Now adidas will fill that gap.

Adidas Logo Will be Visible From June

Adidas logo can be seen on Indian team jersey from June. The Australian team is in India to play four Tests and three ODIs. Two test matches have taken place. Two Tests and three ODIs are left. During these matches, only the logo of Killer will be seen on the jersey of the Indian team. Indian players will play IPL in April-May. International cricket will start again from June. Then the adidas logo would appear on the jersey of the Indian team for the first time.
