The BCCI held an important meeting on January 1, 2023, in which several major decisions were taken from the poor performance of the Indian team in last year’s T20 World Cup to the fitness of the players. The most important decision was taken keeping in mind the ODI World Cup.
BCCI has decided to make Dexa test mandatory :-
BCCI shortlisted 20 players for ODI World Cup. Along with this, in the review meeting, it was decided to make Dexa test mandatory before team selection.
Till now the players had to pass the yo-yo test for their fitness :-
Let us tell you that till now only the players who pass the Yo-Yo Test for the fitness of the players in cricket get a chance to play in the team. But now along with Yo-Yo, DEXA Test has also been made mandatory for team selection.
The DEXA test is an imaging test that uses X-ray technology to measure bone strength. This test also tells the information about any kind of fracture in the bone even before it develops.

These three new proposals were introduced in the meeting: –
Emerging players will now have to play continuously in the domestic series, so that they can be prepared for the selection of the national team.
The yo-yo test and dexa will form part of the selection process. It will be applied to players in the senior team pool.
Looking at the ODI World Cup 2023 and the rest of the series, the NCA will now talk to the IPL franchises and discuss the workload management of the players.
