BCCI may soon get a new boss, this former player can replace Sourav Ganguly

BCCI: Elections are going to be held for all the posts of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The election for the post of BCCI President is to be held in Mumbai on 18 October.

At the same time, according to media reports, former India all-rounder and member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, Roger Binny is at the forefront of the race for the post of BCCI President. That is, he can soon replace the current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

The BCCI elections will be held for the roles of President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer. To contest the elections, nominations for these posts have to be filed by October 11 and 12.

Supreme Court had given permission to BCCI to change its constitution :-

When the Supreme Court allowed the Indian Cricket Board to change its constitution, everyone assumed that BCCI office-bearers would serve another term. But recently during a meeting of top BCCI officials in New Delhi, it’s agreed that Sourav Ganguly would not seek a second term as BCCI President. According to sources, BCCI secretary Jay Shah is also not in the race to become the president, but he will contest for the secretary’s post.

Details about enrollment :-

Candidates will have to file their nominations on October 11 and 12. After this, the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on October 13. Candidates can withdraw their nomination till October 14. Voting will be held on October 18 if there are more than two candidates.

According to reports, Roger Binny, currently serving as the President of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). He is expected to replace Ganguly as the BCCI President. He has been named in the BCCI’s draft voter list ahead of the election to India’s cricket governing body.

Former India all-rounder can play a role in BCCI :-

A report suggested that Binny, a former India all-rounder and member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, may play a role in the BCCI. He is named to represent Karnataka at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on October 18. And on the same day when the results of the elections will also come.
