The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to organize 1054 home matches in the 2021-22 season. In a note circulated among Apex Council members who met almost recently. The BCCI says that it will organize 13 tournaments this season. “Very limited of domestic cricket last season due to the raging COVID 19 pandemic.”

For this exercise, which starts on 28 September and is said to run till 2 April next year. The board has tied up with Apollo Hospitals to create a COVID-proof bio-secure environment.

The BCCI official says that, “We can understand that the bio-secure bubble will be in more than 25 cities and more than 75 hotels. Each city will have at least 220 rooms. ” He also says that “in view of time constraints requiring quarantine for six days prior to the start of the tournament and then before the knockout round, Forced to drop some tournaments like Irani Trophy, Duleep Trophy,” he explained .
BCCI’s domestic season is the backbone of Indian cricket:
The Apex Council note states that “The BCCI’s domestic season is the backbone of Indian cricket. Thousands of players play in various tournaments and age groups. Domestic cricket is the basis for the Indian team to produce world class players.”

It goes on, “BCCI was able to organize a very limited amount of domestic cricket last season due to the raging COVID 19 pandemic. In the current season, the pandemic situation has improved substantially. And the vaccination process is in full swing. India is also opening up in full swing and domestic travel is allowed in most parts of the country.
Board of Control for Cricket looking forward to host full domestic season for 2021 – 2022 for both men’s and women’s categories:
“BCCI is looking forward to hosting a full domestic season for 2021 – 2022 for both men’s and women’s categories. The new season will be in a bio-secure environment. In the same manner as it completed in previous years.” The note lists the tournaments ending.

As per the note, the tournaments to be in this season are Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ranji Trophy, Men’s State A One Day, Col CK Nayudu Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Men’s Under 19 One Day Challenger, Cooch Behar Trophy . Multi Day), Senior Women’s T20 League, Senior Women’s One Day League, Senior Women’s One Day Challenger Trophy, Women’s Under 19 One Day League and Women’s Under 19 One Day Challenger Trophy.
