Big Bow to RCB, 3.20 Crore Batsman Will Jacques Out of IPL

New Delhi. Bad news has come before the start of IPL 2023 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team led by Faf Duplesey and the presence of Virat Kohli. England’s explosive batsman Will Jacques has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to injury. Jacques, who did a bang in the South Africa T20 League, was included in the team by RCB after spending 3.20 crores in the auction.

Will Jacques Injury on Bangladesh Tour has Proved to be Serious

According to the report of ESPN-Cricinfo, the injury suffered by Will Jacques on the tour of Bangladesh has proved to be serious. Due to this he had to withdraw his name from IPL. Will Jacques was included in the team by RCB as a cover for Glenn Maxwell. Jacques suffered a muscle injury while fielding in the second ODI against Bangladesh. After investigation and doctors’ advice, he decided to quit the IPS.

140 sixes have been hit in T20

Will Jacques is counted among the best batsmen of T20. He has so far scored 2802 runs in 109 matches, including one century and 23 half-centuries. Jacques has 140 sixes in his name in T20. He also does part time bowling. Will Jacques has recently made his debut for England in all three formats of cricket.

Bracewell Can Join the team

In the absence of Will Jacques, RCB will need replacement. According to the report of ESPN-Cricinfo, discussions are going on with New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell for this. Bracewell participated in the IPL auction and his base price was Rs 1 crore. However, then he could not find any buyer. Michael Bracewell scored a century against India last January. RCB will play their first match in IPL 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 2 April.
