After two consecutive defeats, Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s team made a stunning comeback to register a resounding win over Bangladesh in the 2nd ODI in Dhaka on Wednesday (July 19).

Women in Blue take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after winning the first two T20Is

The Blue Ladies started their tour well by winning the first two T20Is to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. However, Bangladesh won the third T20 match before defeating their arch-rivals by 40 runs in the first ODI.

Harmanpreet Kaur and her colleagues have completed their work. They had to win the game at all costs to keep the series alive and they did it brilliantly.

Excellent performance by Jemima Rodrigues

An all-around performance from Jemimah Rodrigues helped the visitors beat Bangladesh by 108 runs to level the three-match series.

Batting first, India scored 228 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Jemima top-scored for India with 86 while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored 52.

In reply, Bangladesh was all out for a modest score of 120 runs in less than 36 overs. Fargana Haq (47) and Ritu Moni (27) were the only batsmen to score in double figures for the home team. For India, Jemimah also did well with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 3 runs in just 3.1 overs.

During the presentation ceremony, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur gave a hilarious response when the anchor mistakenly referred to her as Jemimah Rodrigues.

After the interview was completed, the presenter said: “Thank you, Jemimah.”

In response, Harmanpreet Kaur did not express any displeasure, but went away saying, “Harmanpreet Kaur.” The Indian star didn’t even wait to see the presenter’s reaction or hear his apology as she left before the presenter could correct herself.

Meanwhile, the third and final ODI of the three-match series is scheduled to be played in Dhaka on Saturday (July 22). With momentum on its side, India would like to make the most of it.
