CCL 2023: Team of Sonu Sood Out of the Tournament, 2 Teams Made it to the Semi-Finals

In the Celebrity Cricket League 2023, both the matches were played in Jodhpur on Saturday. The first match was Bhojpuri Dabangs vs Kerala Strikers. In which Dabangs beat Kerala by 75 runs, exiting the tournament and making it to the semi-finals. On the other hand, in the second match played in the evening, Punjab De Sher faced Karnataka Bulldozers. In which Sonu Sood-led Punjab got a crushing defeat by 8 wickets and Karnataka also confirmed their place in the semi-finals. Eliminating them from the tournament.

Bhojpuri Dabangs vs Kerala Strikers

In this match, Kerala Strikers won the toss and elected to field first. While batting first, there was a great performance from the Bhojpuri Dabangs batsmen. Pravesh Yadav scored an unbeaten 114 off 43 balls and his century helped Dabanggs post 167/2 in their first innings.

In the reply innings, Kerala scored 119 runs losing 5 wickets with the help of Arjun Nandakumar (64) half-century and Dabangs got a lead of 48 runs. In their second innings Dabangs scored 115 runs losing one wicket. And Kerala got a target of 164 runs to win the match. But Kerala were all out for 88 runs in 9.5 overs in their second innings.

Sonu Sood Won the Toss and Decided to Bat First

In this match, Punjab captain Sonu Sood won the toss and decided to bat first. Put in to bat first, poor performance was seen from the Punjab team and the entire team managed to score 80 runs losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 10 overs.

In the reply innings, Karnataka scored 140 runs for the loss of 2 wickets with the help of Pradeep Bogadi’s 50 runs in 29 balls and took a lead of 60 runs. Punjab scored 100/7 after playing a full over in their second innings and Karnataka set a target of 40 runs to win the match. Which they achieved in 2.3 overs losing two wickets.
