KL Rahul will miss the upcoming Asia Cup, putting his place in the playing XI for the ODI World Cup starting later this year in jeopardy.

The opener suffered a thigh injury while playing for Lucknow Super Giants in the recently concluded Indian Premier League and has since undergone surgery in London.

KL Rahul will take time to recover:-

Rahul is currently at the NCA and is undergoing rehab, but according to Cricbuzz, the cricketer may need some more time to regain full fitness and thus, likely to be available for the upcoming continental cup. Not there.

Sanju Samson has a golden chance:-

In KL’s absence, Sanju Samson is likely to get a chance in the playing XI as India need someone who can control the situation in the middle overs.

After Pant’s injury, Rahul performed brilliantly at number five but his injury opened the doors for Samson, who represented India in only 11 ODIs and scored 330 runs during that period.
