Asif Afridi Banned

While the exact nature of this offense has not been made public, it has banned him for two years. His other offense relates to a breach of Article 2.4.4, which deals with not reporting corrupt practices. For that, he has received a two-year suspension as well as a six-month suspension for running.

Offenses can lead to life bans, but the PCB said they had taken into account his admission of the offense, his level of remorse, and his previous track record.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi said, “It gives the PCB no pleasure to suspend an international cricketer for two years. But we have a zero-tolerance approach towards such offenses.” “As the governing body of the game, we need to set an example, handle such matters firmly, and send a strong message to all cricketers.
