Australia’s Ash Gardner Rises To Number One Spot in ICC Women’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings

Australia’s Ash Gardner has climbed to the number one spot in the ICC Women’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings. After a strong series with bat and ball in India.

Ranked 1st in women’s T20I all-rounder rankings:-

Gardner has risen to the number one position in the MRF Tires ICC Women’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings on top of the moves in both the bowling and batting disciplines.

Scoring 66* (32) and 2/20 in Australia’s fifth T20I win over India at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, the 25-year-old climbed two places to claim the top spot, and will be crowning the start of the new year.

Gardner (417) is ahead of Sophie Devine (389) and Deepti Sharma (387) in second and third respectively, while Hayley Matthews (381) has slipped two spots to fourth.

McGrath moves up two Places to 10th (248):-

Tahlia McGrath has moved up two places to 10th (248), ahead of Stafanie Taylor (235) and compatriot Ellyse Perry (231).

Scoring runs in the recent T20I series against India, Gardner also jumped two places to seventh in the batting rankings (649) behind Suzie Bates (641) and Alyssa Healy (631).

Australians occupy the top two spots with the work of McGrath (814) and Beth Mooney (760), while India’s Smriti Mandhana is third (727). Chamari Athapaththu (612) re-entered the top ten, with Jemimah Rodrigues (607) slipping two places.

Around several minor changes to the batting side, one of the biggest moves was that of Grace Harris, who made the most of her inclusion on Australia’s tour of India.

Trying to break into the top 100:-

The hard-hitter has jumped 33 places to 61st (398) and India’s Harleen Deol (206) has jumped 26 places to enter the top 100.

On the bowling front, Gardner jumped three places to 14th. With only one change in the top ten: Shabnim Ismail moved up one place to fifth (707) and swapped places with Renuka Singh (701).

England pair of Freya Davies (up 23 places to 102nd) and Ellyse Davidson-Richards (up 84 places). And Australian youngster D’Arcy Brown have gained a career-best six places after strong performances in the West Indies. 546 rating.
