The second Test match on Day 2 witnessed a shocking incident where a single catch was dropped not once, but thrice! This embarrassing fielding by Bangladesh has gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium during the second Test, involving the catch of Prabath Jayasuriya.
It happened during Khaled Ahmed’s over, where he bowled an off-stump delivery that Jayasuriya drove full-blooded towards the covers. The ball took the outside edge of the bat and flew towards the first slip fielder, Shanto.

For Shanto, it was a straightforward catch, but he failed to grab it. The ball spilled out of his hands and flew towards the second slip fielder, Shahadat Hossain Dipu.
Dipu also attempted to grab the catch but couldn’t get his hands on it. Finally, Zakir Hasan, standing next to Dipu, tried to pouch the drive. However, the ball eluded his grasp as well.

Jayasuriya went on to score 28 runs off 75 balls with 4 boundaries, helping Sri Lanka reach 531 runs in 159 overs. Shakib Al Hasan, who returned to Test cricket after almost 12 months, bowled economically. The left-arm spinner finished with figures of 37-5-110-3.
Hasan Mahmud, who made his Test debut, picked up the wickets of Dimuth Karunaratne and Angelo Mathews. Kamindu Mendis, who scored two centuries in the Sylhet Test, remained unbeaten on 92 with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
