BCCI accounts should be made public, the President of India Against Corruption raised the demand

Hemant Patil, National President of India Against Corruption, has raised the demand to make the accounts of BCCI public. Hemant Patil said that BCCI earns and spends crores of rupees every year so its accounts should be made public.

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is the richest cricket league in the world with an estimated $2 billion annual revenue. The BCCI is followed by the ECB (England & Wales Cricket Board) at $368 Million, and CA (Cricket Australia) at $270 Million in annual revenue.

BCCI is the biggest and richest cricket board in the world today

Patil said that there are crores of cricket fans in India due to which BCCI has become the biggest and richest cricket board in the world today. That’s why the board should make its accounts public.

In a press release issued by Patil on Wednesday, it was said that he has discussed this with the BCCI officials in this regard and the BCCI officials have given a positive assurance to bring the proposal before the board in the next meeting. He said that the number of cricket players in the country has tripled today, but even after six decades, the number of cricket teams in the country is still the same. Every state cricket association produces great players but they don’t get big opportunities. He demanded that 52 new teams be formed to give opportunities to all talented players.

Patil has demonstrated several times against the BCCI

The statement said that BCCI has a lot of money. Out of this, only 20 percent money can be spent. The remaining 80 percent is not used. The release said that the BCCI should use its own money and build at least five international-standard stadiums in each state. Patil further said that the recommendations of the Lodha Committee have not yet been implemented. Please implement it as soon as possible. He warned that failing which a contempt petition would be filed in the Supreme Court. He said that he has demonstrated against the BCCI many times. Earlier Mr. Patil had demonstrated against the BCCI at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.
