India vs New Zealand second T20 match, Suryakumar Yadav played an unbeaten inning of 26 runs and won India. On one hand, where Surya’s performance is being praised, on the other hand, former Indian player Reetinder Singh Sodhi has raised questions about the dependence of the Indian team on Surya.
Reetinder Singh Sodhi gave a statement regarding Suryakumar Yadav –
Actually, Sodhi says that if Surya’s bat did not work in the first T20 match, then India had lost the match. Whereas, in the second T20 match, India’s top order flopped even in chasing an easy target of 100 runs. Team India is becoming more dependent on Surya, he said.
Sodhi said – “If we talk about our top order, it has been a flop in some matches. We all want our top order to be brilliant. The Indian team has been over-dependent on Suryakumar Yadav in T20Is. India needs to get out of this.”
Apart from this, Reetinder Singh Sodhi said –
“If Suryakumar Yadav has an off day, where do India stand? If he scores, a win is always on the cards. If he doesn’t, do we have the complete batting lineup that we have?” Wins us a game, don’t you think it will be important to focus on?
