WPL Auction 2023: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also caught in the affair of marriages happening in the country. After the finalization of the Women’s Premier League teams, it is now the turn of the players to be auctioned. The BCCI will organize this auction, for which the board will have to make the venue, hotel, and all the arrangements.

WPL Auction 2023: BCCI upset due to weddings, not getting a hotel for the WPL auction

BCCI will organize the auction of players in WPL, for which the board has to make arrangements for the venue, hotel, and all. But when a problem has arisen in front of the BCCI regarding the hotel. Actually, BCCI is not getting hotel booking for auction in this wedding season.

Players’ auction event postponed

The BCCI was considering holding the players’ auction on 6 February in Mumbai. This will allow five new franchises within a month to be ready for the opening of the WPL season starting in March. However, the BCCI was forced to change that plan due to two reasons. First, the majority of owners of the five WIPL franchises also own teams in the ILT20 in the UAE and the SA20 in South Africa, with the finals of these tournaments scheduled for February 11 and 12 respectively.

BCCI has not yet told the date of the auction of new franchises

The BCCI has not yet told the date of the auction of the new franchises. But it is believed that the board will look into the request of the franchisees and will decide the date keeping that in mind. Probably the auction can be held on 13 February. The auction venue is also not finalized yet. But it can be anywhere between Mumbai and Delhi.

BCCI is not getting hotels in the wedding season

According to a report in Cricbuzz, the BCCI is currently looking for the right hotel for the auction. Actually, due to the wedding season, finding a hotel has become a big headache for him. BCCI managers are busy with this work. The decision on where the auction will take place can be taken in the next day or two.
