BCCI announces second squad for WTC final

WTC Final: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the updated squad (WTC Final 2023 India Squad) for the World Test Championship final. KL Rahul was earlier included in the squad but has been ruled out due to injury. Ishan Kishan has been officially included in the squad in place of Rahul. Their BCCI also gave the latest update on Umesh Yadav and Unadkat’s injuries. This time BCCI has also announced the names of standby players for the World Test Championship final.

Rahul has advised surgery after a discussion with the medical team

Giving an update on KL Rahul’s injury, the BCCI in its statement said, “Rahul suffered a hamstring injury while fielding in match number 43 of IPL. After consultation with the medical team, Rahul has been advised of surgery. After which he will undergo a rehab process at the National Cricket Academy. He has been dropped from the squad for the World Test Championship final against Australia.

Jaydev Unadkat Injury Update: BCCI gave this update on Jaydev Unadkat

The BCCI said in a statement, “Jaidev Unadkat suffered an injury to his opposite shoulder while bowling in the nets. Following the advice of the medical team, he is currently at the NCA and undergoing strength and rehab sessions. A decision on whether or not he will be in the WTC Final squad will be taken in due course.

Umesh Yadav Injury Update:

BCCI told – Umesh Yadav suffered a hamstring injury in match number 36 of the IPL. The fast bowler is currently under the medical team of KKR and has started bowling slowly. The BCCI medical team is also in touch with the KKR medical team and is monitoring Umesh Yadav’s health updates.
