BCCI Central Contracts: Hardik And Suryakumar Are Expected To Get Maximum Promotions

BCCI Central Contracts: India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya are likely to gain promotion to Grade A of the 2022-23 BCCI central contracts, as per sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav expected to get maximum promotion

With the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) set to announce the promotions and the new contracts, reports suggest that Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav are going to be the big winners. In fact, a report on CricketNext suggests that when the Apex Council meets, a call would also be taken on India’s T20 captaincy. There have been whispers that Hardik is going to replace Rohit Sharma. As of SKY, he has gone from strength to strength – with his good show in T20Is. He earned a spot in the ODI set-up and now would in all probability get a maiden Test call-up soon. He, along with Hardik, is currently in Grade C and that is surely going to change.

A big decision can be taken regarding Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, and Wriddhiman Saha

The BCCI discussed the new contracts during the Apex Council meeting in December. It was put on hold for the new selection committee to take over. The senior players were not in favor of the big discussions. That’s why a big decision can be taken regarding Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, and Wriddhiman Saha.

No change in Grade A+ salary

Hardik Pandya is currently in Grade B. But Hardik can now be included in Grade A. Because after Rohit, he is taking charge of the T20 team while Surya is also expected to shift to Grade A. There will be no change in Grade A+, which includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul.

Excellent form of Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is currently running in excellent form at present this player is part of grade C and now it is believed that Gill will join grade A. While Grade C will feature Umran Malik and Ishan Kishan along with some new players.

A senior BCCI official said, “Yes, it is under consideration. See, every 5 years the annual salary increases. The salaries of our players are also being increased. With as much cricket as possible at the moment, I think the players deserve it. But it is a collective decision and everyone has to come together. But if you compare it with the wages in England, our players earn more than match fees.”

A Grade (Rs 5 crore): Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami.
B Grade (Rs 3 crore): Cheteshwar Pujara, Akshar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya
C Grade (Rs 1 crore): Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Shubman Gill, Hanuma Vihari, Yuzvendra Chahal, Suryakumar Yadav, and Mayank Agarwal.
