A senior BCCI official told Sport that “We are still in discussion. No series has been finalized yet.
But yes, there will be a slight gap in the month of June after the WTC final, we are in talks with a few boards. But at that time monsoon also happens in India.
That’s why a lot of deliberation is needed. But yes, if a series is finalised. So we have to bring in a series-specific broadcaster as there are high chances that the new deal will not be finalised.
The BCCI official further told the Sport that “Definitely we expect an answer of Rs 10,000 crore for that period.
But we have not arrived at a final decision whether it will be for a period of five years or a period of four years. Four years seems logical because it’s in line with a lot of business decisions. The tender should come in the last week of IPL or after that.
