IND vs SL Series: Chetan Sharma’s committee will select the team for the series against Sri Lanka. According to BCCI sources, the outgoing selection committee of Chetan Sharma is starting against Sri Lanka (IND vs SL) on January 3.

The new panel will not be decided in a week:-

Will select two Indian limited-overs squads for the upcoming home series (IND vs SL T20) as the new panel will not be decided in a week.

It is expected that the interviews of the shortlisted candidates by the Cricket Advisory Committee to select the members of the selection committee will be held between 26 and 28 December.

A BCCI source aware of this said on the condition of confidentiality, “The old selection committee will probably choose the white-ball team against Sri Lanka.

Hardik will lead the team in Surat:-

“As of now it doesn’t look like Rohit Sharma’s finger will be fully recovering. Before the T20 Internationals so in that case Hardik will lead the team. As far as KL Rahul is concerned, his T20 International days seem numbered.

There is also a possibility that the T20 International team will have only specialists in that format. Some players like Virat Kohli may be giving a break from the T20 format.

The entire committee headed by Chetan was sacking following India’s semi-final exit from the T20 World Cup. And the process of picking new selectors took longer than expecting.

The official said, “Chetan and his committee are still watching domestic cricket. He watched the entire Vijay Hazare Trophy matches and also the first two rounds of the Ranji Trophy.

Debashish Mohanty was present at Eden Gardens to watch the match between Bengal and Himachal Pradesh. He has got an extension of two months till December 25.

Chetan and his midfield partner Harvinder Singh have reapplied for the selectors’ post. Which also includes Venkatesh Prasad, Nayan Mongia, Maninder Singh, Atul Wassan, Nikhil Chopra, Amay Khursiya, Gyanendra Pandey and Mukund Kumar.
